A QC business is flying high after making a big deal today. Alcoa and Airbus signed a multi-year contract, they haven’t disclosed for how many years, but they do say it’s worth 1.4 billion dollars. Aloca’s aluminum will be used for nearly all airbus models. The plant right here in the QC will be handling the flat rolled products. Meaning it’ll stay busy. Alcoa Spokesperson, John Riches said, “We currently have an impact of about 5 million dollars a day in the QC economy, when you look at things we purchase here, what our employees spend in the QC. The fact that that will continue is good news for the QC” The Quad Cities plant employs 2,200 workers and this news means job security for them.
